Whether you're a casual collector with a handful of favourites or a seasoned aficionado with a cabinet full of rare drams, Decant gives you a tidy, private place to keep track of what's on your shelf, what you've tried, and what you'd like to add next.

Your collection syncs across your devices through your own iCloud account, so you can browse on your iPhone and pick up on your iPad — provided you're signed in to iCloud and have enough storage available.

Welcome to Whisky Collector - Decant ("Decant"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Decant mobile application ("App") created by Red Kite 9 Ltd. ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Decant is a personal tool for cataloguing a whisky collection. It lets you record the bottles you own, add details and photographs, and keep personal tasting notes. The App is for record-keeping only. It does not sell, market, supply, deliver or facilitate the sale or purchase of alcohol or any other goods, and it does not encourage the consumption of alcohol.

2. Age and Eligibility

The App is intended solely for adults of legal drinking age. By using the App you confirm that you are of the legal age to purchase and consume alcohol in your country or region of residence, and in any case that you are at least 18 years old. The App is not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under the legal drinking age. We reserve the right to restrict access if we believe this requirement is not met.

3. Responsible Use and Drinking

Decant is a collection-tracking tool, not a drinking companion. We do not condone, encourage or promote the excessive or irresponsible consumption of alcohol. Nothing in the App should be read as advice or encouragement to drink.

You are solely responsible for your own choices regarding the purchase and consumption of alcohol. We accept no responsibility or liability whatsoever for your drinking, for any decision you make about consuming alcohol, or for any consequences arising from it — including effects on your health, finances, relationships, employment, or any harm to yourself or others.

Alcohol consumption carries health and safety risks. Please drink responsibly, never drink and drive, and follow the official guidance applicable in your country. If you are concerned that you or someone you know may be drinking excessively or developing a dependency, please seek professional help — speak to your doctor or contact a recognised support organisation in your country (for example, in the UK, Drinkaware or the NHS; elsewhere, your local health service or a national alcohol support service).

4. No Investment or Valuation Advice

Any prices, values, estimates or figures you record or that the App displays are for your personal reference only and are not appraisals, guarantees of value, or financial or investment advice. The value of collectible whisky can go down as well as up, and may be affected by condition, provenance, market conditions and many other factors. You should not rely on the App when making any buying, selling, insurance or investment decision. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of any value or product information, and we are not responsible for any loss arising from your reliance on it.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

• Free and Premium: The App can be used for free with a limited set of features. A premium subscription unlocks additional features such as an unlimited collection size.
• Subscription Options: Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. The price and billing period of each option are shown in the App before you confirm any purchase.
• In-App Purchases: All payments are processed through the Apple App Store (IAP). Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription, or turn off auto-renewal, in your App Store Account Settings after purchase.
• Refunds: All billing and refunds are handled exclusively by Apple. We do not have the authority to issue refunds directly.

6. Your Content

Any collection entries, photographs, notes and labels you create within the App ("User Content") remain yours. You are solely responsible for the User Content you create and must not store any unlawful material or material that infringes the rights of others. You must not use the App to advertise, offer for sale, or arrange the private sale of alcohol.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality within the App (excluding your User Content) are the exclusive property of Red Kite 9 Ltd. and are protected by international copyright and trademark laws. Decant is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any distillery, bottler, brand or retailer. All distillery names, brand names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners and are used by you for personal cataloguing purposes only.

8. Limitation of Liability

Decant is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:

• Any decision, purchase, sale or consumption of alcohol made by you, or any consequence of it.
• The accuracy of any product details, prices or valuations recorded in or displayed by the App.
• Loss of collection data, photographs or notes resulting from device failure, OS updates, uninstalling the App, account deletion, or iCloud sync issues such as insufficient iCloud storage or being signed out of iCloud.
• Any indirect, incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the App.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

At Red Kite 9 Ltd., we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how Whisky Collector - Decant handles information for our iOS application. Decant is designed to collect as little data as possible.

1. Data Collection and Usage

• Your Collection: The bottles, details, photographs and tasting notes you add are stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud account so the App can save your collection across your devices. This content lives in your private iCloud storage — we do not read, analyse, sell or share it, and we have no access to it.
• Age Confirmation: You may be asked to confirm that you are of legal drinking age. We do not collect or store your date of birth or identity documents for this purpose.
• No Account Required: You can use the App's core features without creating an account with us or providing any personal information to us. iCloud sync relies on the Apple ID you are already signed in to on your device.
• No Tracking or Advertising: We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

2. Third-Party Services

Because the App uses Apple's In-App Purchase system to offer subscriptions, Apple processes your purchase and may collect certain transaction data. We never see or store your payment card details. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles your information.

3. iCloud Sync

Decant uses Apple's iCloud to sync and back up your collection between your own devices. Your data is stored in your private iCloud account and counts against your iCloud storage allowance; if you do not have enough iCloud storage available, or you are signed out of iCloud, syncing may be paused or incomplete. iCloud is managed entirely by Apple under your control and Apple's terms — we cannot access your iCloud data. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles iCloud information.

4. Data Security

Your collection data is stored on your device and in your private iCloud account, protected by your device's security and your Apple ID. We recommend keeping your iOS software up to date, using a device passcode, and securing your Apple ID with a strong password and two-factor authentication to keep your data safe.

5. Children's Privacy

Our App is intended for adults of legal drinking age and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below and we will take steps to remove it.

Yes. Your collection is stored on your device, so you can browse and update it without an internet connection. When you're back online, it syncs via iCloud so it's available on your other devices.

How does syncing between my devices work?

Decant syncs your collection through your own iCloud account, so signing in to the same Apple ID on another device brings your collection with you. Syncing uses your iCloud storage, so it requires you to be signed in to iCloud with enough space available.

What's the difference between the free and premium versions?

The free version lets you build a collection up to a certain size. A premium subscription removes that limit and unlocks additional features.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Since all transactions are handled by Apple, you can cancel by:

1. Opening the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Tapping your Apple ID/Name at the top.
3. Selecting Subscriptions.
4. Choosing Whisky Collector - Decant and selecting "Cancel Subscription."

I'm worried about my drinking. Can the app help?
