Crochet Counter
Developed by Red Kite 9 Ltd., Crochet Counter is a simple, distraction-free stitch and row counter for crocheters and other crafters. Whether you're working a long row of trebles, tracking a stitch repeat, or juggling several works-in-progress at once, Crochet Counter helps you keep your place so you can focus on the making.
Create a separate project for each piece you're working on, add as many counters as a pattern needs (stitches, rows, repeats, increases and decreases), and tap to count without ever losing your place. Your counts are saved automatically, so you can put the app down mid-row and pick up exactly where you left off.
Your projects sync across your devices through your own iCloud account, so you can start on your iPhone and pick up on your iPad — provided you're signed in to iCloud and have enough storage available.
Crochet Counter does what it says on the tin — it counts. It is a personal tracking tool and does not provide patterns, tutorials or crafting instructions.
Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: 2026-Jun-03
Welcome to Crochet Counter. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Crochet Counter mobile application ("App") created by Red Kite 9 Ltd. ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of Service
Crochet Counter is a personal productivity and tracking tool that lets you create projects and tally counters (such as stitches, rows and repeats) while crafting. The App is a counting aid only. It does not supply patterns, instructions or crafting advice, and it does not verify, correct or interpret your work in any way.
2. Subscriptions and Payments
- Free and Premium: The App can be used for free with a limited set of features. A premium subscription unlocks additional features such as unlimited projects and counters.
- Subscription Options: Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. The price and billing period of each option are shown in the App before you confirm any purchase.
- In-App Purchases: All payments are processed through the Apple App Store (IAP). Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription, or turn off auto-renewal, in your App Store Account Settings after purchase.
- Refunds: All billing and refunds are handled exclusively by Apple. We do not have the authority to issue refunds directly.
3. Usage Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring your device meets the technical requirements to run the App. You must be 13 years of age or older to use the App. You agree to use the App only for lawful, personal, non-commercial crafting purposes.
4. Your Content
Any project names, notes or labels you create within the App ("User Content") remain yours. You are solely responsible for the User Content you create and must not store any material that infringes the intellectual property rights of others. Crochet Counter does not distribute crochet patterns; if you use the App alongside a pattern, that pattern remains the property of its respective designer or publisher and is subject to their own terms of use.
5. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality within the App (excluding your User Content) are the exclusive property of Red Kite 9 Ltd. and are protected by international copyright and trademark laws. Crochet Counter is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any yarn manufacturer, pattern designer or publisher.
6. Disclaimer — Accuracy of Counts
Crochet Counter is provided as a convenience aid only. While we work hard to make counting reliable, you are responsible for the accuracy of your own work. We do not guarantee that counts recorded in the App will be correct, complete or saved without error, and we strongly recommend periodically verifying your stitch and row counts against your physical project.
We accept no responsibility for miscounts, missed or duplicated taps, lost progress, or any resulting errors in your finished work — including but not limited to wasted yarn, materials, time, or a project that does not turn out as intended.
7. Limitation of Liability
Crochet Counter is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:
- Loss of projects, counters or progress resulting from device failure, OS updates, uninstalling the App, account deletion, or iCloud sync issues such as insufficient iCloud storage or being signed out of iCloud.
- Errors in finished crafting projects, or any cost or loss of yarn, materials or time arising from reliance on the App's counts.
- Any indirect, incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the App.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 2026-Jun-03
At Red Kite 9 Ltd., we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how Crochet Counter handles information for our iOS application. Crochet Counter is designed to collect as little data as possible.
1. Data Collection and Usage
- Your Projects and Counts: The projects, counters, names and notes you create are stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud account so the App can save your progress across your devices. This content lives in your private iCloud storage — we do not read, analyse, sell or share it, and we have no access to it.
- No Account Required: You can use the App's counting features without creating an account with us or providing any personal information to us. iCloud sync relies on the Apple ID you are already signed in to on your device.
- No Tracking or Advertising: We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
2. Third-Party Services
Because the App uses Apple's In-App Purchase system to offer subscriptions, Apple processes your purchase and may collect certain transaction data. We never see or store your payment card details. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles your information.
3. iCloud Sync
Crochet Counter uses Apple's iCloud to sync and back up your projects between your own devices. Your data is stored in your private iCloud account and counts against your iCloud storage allowance; if you do not have enough iCloud storage available, or you are signed out of iCloud, syncing may be paused or incomplete. iCloud is managed entirely by Apple under your control and Apple's terms — we cannot access your iCloud data. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles iCloud information.
4. Data Security
Your project data is stored on your device and in your private iCloud account, protected by your device's security and your Apple ID. We recommend keeping your iOS software up to date, using a device passcode, and securing your Apple ID with a strong password and two-factor authentication to keep your data safe.
5. Children's Privacy
Our App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below and we will take steps to remove it.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this section. We encourage users to review this page periodically.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does Crochet Counter do?
It keeps track of your stitches, rows and repeats while you crochet. Create a project, add the counters you need, and tap to count so you never lose your place.
Can I track more than one project at a time?
Yes. You can create a separate project for each work-in-progress and add multiple counters within each one. The number of projects and counters available on the free tier is limited; premium unlocks unlimited use.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Counting works without an internet connection, and your counts are saved on your device as you go. When you're back online, your projects sync via iCloud so they're available on your other devices.
How does syncing between my devices work?
Crochet Counter syncs your projects through your own iCloud account, so signing in to the same Apple ID on another device brings your projects with you. Syncing uses your iCloud storage, so it requires you to be signed in to iCloud with enough space available.
What's the difference between the free and premium versions?
The free version lets you try the core counting features with a limited number of projects and counters. A premium subscription removes those limits and unlocks additional features.
How much does premium cost?
Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. The current price for each option is always shown in the App before you confirm a purchase, and the yearly plan offers a saving compared with paying monthly.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Since all transactions are handled by Apple, you can cancel by:
- Opening the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tapping your Apple ID/Name at the top.
- Selecting Subscriptions.
- Choosing Crochet Counter and selecting "Cancel Subscription."
Will I lose my projects if my counts are wrong?
Crochet Counter is a counting aid, so we always recommend checking your counts against your physical work now and then. We can't guarantee a count is correct, so the final word is always your project itself.
